PRIME MINISTER OF GEORGIA IS TO PARTICIPATE IN MUNICH SECURITY CONFERENCE

Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia will participate in the Munich Security Conference (MSC) in the period of February 15-17, 2019. Government delegation will thus visit Germany to take part in the key-note event.

Head of Government of Georgia will deliver a speech at several panel discussions within the scope of MSC in relation with a security position in Eastern Europe and NATO. High level bilateral meetings are also planned, including those with colleagues and Heads of Delegations participating in the conference.

Government delegation, headed by the Prime Minister of Georgia, includes David Zalkaliani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Levan Izoria, Minister of Defense of Georgia.

Highlights of the agenda at MSC 2019 are the self-assertion of European Union (EU) and transatlantic cooperation. Discussions will also be related to arms control and cooperation in the field of defense, intersection between trade and international security, along with the effects of climate change, technological innovations on international security. Unprecedented number of world leaders are expected to attend the MSC this year. Heads of over 35 States and Governments, 50 Ministers of Foreign Affairs and 30 Ministers of Defense will take part in the key-note event.
