Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli’s official visit to Ukraine

Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli and other officials arrived in Ukraine for an official visit on 27 February 2005. At the airport they were met by Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian and Social Issues Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ihor Dolhov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia Mykola Spys, Georgian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in the Ukraine Grigol Katamadze, the representative of the State Protocol Administration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Vladimir Bevza and the chief of III Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Igor Prokchuk. Noghaideli spoke to journalists afterwards.

On 28 February he visited the Cabinet of Ministers, where he was met by the Prime Minister of the Ukraine Mrs. Yulya Tymoshenko. The two prime ministers attended a meeting of the Georgian-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Economical Commission, where they signed a joint statement and held a press-conference afterwards.

That same day Noghaideli met President of the Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko and visited the Supreme Council (Verkhovna Rada). He met the Chairman of Verkhovna Rada Mr. Vladimir Litvin.

The Prime Minister of Georgia attended a party organized by Georgian representatives dedicated to the presentation of a Georgian production. In the evening Tymoshenko hosted an official dinner.

On March 1, the Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli met Minister of Defense Anatoliy Hrytsenko and later laid a wreath at the Ukrainian Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
