Visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia in the Austrian Republic

On January 14-16, the Prime Minister of Georgia Vladimer Gurgenidze was in the Austrian Republic for a working visit.
Within the framework of the visit the prime minister of Georgia had a meeting with the OSCE Secretary General Mark Perrin De Brishambo. Valdimer Gurgenidze briefed him on the presidential elections that have recently been held in Georgia and provided him with the information on the preparation process for the upcoming parliamentary elections; issues related to the conflict resolution and other actual problems were also discussed. The Georgian delegation took an active part in the annual congress of the Euromoney Magazine, which is considered to be a highly prestigious event especially to the investors and bankers interested in the countries of Eastern Europe.
The congress which was attended by 1200 delegates was opened by the presentation of the prime minister of Georgia. The audience was provided with the information on the presidential elections that have recently been held in Georgia and the accompanying processes in our country during the last two-three months were also reviewed. Yet the most significant accents were made on the future developments and prospects. – “All the investors and representatives of the western banks with whom we held the meetings, showed keen interest in the legislative package which was entered in the parliament last week. They believe that this is an unprecedented package indeed, in which all possible interests of the investors are fully envisaged and dwelling on the results of the elections, it also contains guarantees that the course of radical economic reforms will continue forth,” – the prime minister of Georgia asserted.
