Prime Minister of Georgia Meets EIB Vice-President Print Version

Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Teresa Czerwińska, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) today.

Dignitaries reviewed the opportunities for expanding the future cooperation. It was noted that support demonstrated by the EIB has been significant in promoting the development in the country, especially towards implementing large infrastructure projects and transport sector.

The Head of Government of Georgia expressed gratitude to the Vice-President of the EIB for the support rendered by the Bank to the country in implementing the strategic projects.

The Vice President of the EIB expressed readiness for the Bank being a financial institution of the EU to continue supporting Georgia in various directions. Discussion also touched upon the positive indicators of economic growth in Georgia. It was noted that the current trend continues.

Since the commencement of its operation in Georgia, EIB has overall invested 1.6 billion euros in the public sector of the country to this day.
