Prime Minister of Georgia Attends a Business Lunch Organised by the President of Lietuva Along with the Associated Trio and EU Member State Leaders Print Version

Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia attended a Business Lunch organised by Gitanas Nausėda, President of the Republic of Lietuva in the honour of the Associated Trio (Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova) and leaders of the EU Member States within the scope of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Brussels today.

Meeting was focused on the Eastern Partnership Summit Agenda and a joint visit of the Prime Ministers of the Associated Trio to Brussels, which involved the discussion of priority issues to be captured in the political declaration of the summit as a reflection of their needs.

It was highlighted that a need exists to once again evidence the strategic importance of the Eastern Partnership in the declaration, as well as a wording on the support of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia and partners within the internationally recognized borders.

The Prime Minister of Georgia noted that significant references are expected about a gradual integration to a common consumer market of the EU, along with a boosted transport, energy and digital connectivity with the EU.

Security concerns in the region and current challenges were also discussed at the meeting. Particular emphasis was made on the significance of the Black Sea security in ensuring a common Euro-Atlantic security.
