Inter-Agency Coordination Council Rules to Defer Restriction on Mobility from 21:00 to 23:00 and to Let Eateries Accept Customers on Weekends Solely in Open-Air Spaces Print Version

Restriction on mobility will be valid from 23:00 to 05:00 and also eateries will be allowed to accept customers on weekends solely in open-air spaces from this week. This decision has been made by the Inter-Agency Coordination Council led by Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia at its meeting today, which was held at the Government Administration.

It was noted at the meeting that easing of restriction on mobility has been decided on the grounds of a detailed analysis of epidemic trends. The Inter-Agency Coordination Council urges the population of the country to take into account the tightened enforcement of the regulation, which implies that the restriction will be administered precisely at 23:00. At the same time, all the permits originally issued for mobility in the timeframe of 21:00-05:00 remain valid.

Also, the Inter-Agency Coordination Council made a decision at its meeting today to let the eateries accept customers on weekends solely in open-air spaces from the current week in full compliance with COVID regulations. The Inter-Agency Coordination Council continues to monitor the epidemic trends and will decide on further easing from June 1 if the situation gets stabilized.

It was highlighted at the meeting that the ban remains valid on such social events, as a wedding party, funeral repast, banquet dinner and various other jubilee parties. Also, the Coordination Council has decided to continue with mandatory testing on COVID-19 among the pre-defined groups throughout June with financing from the State Budget.

Inter-Agency Coordination Council once again urges the population to adhere to the existing regulations, wear facemasks and practice social distancing.

Since the first detection, the number of lab-proven COVID-19 cases has reached 330 879, out of which 310 859 individuals have recovered and 4 469 - died.

Currently, 67 individuals are kept in quarantine, 657 - at clinical hotels and 4 395 - at healthcare facilities under medical supervision.
