Anzor Erkomaishvili dedicated his whole life to our country, Georgian music and folklore, and created, preserved, and handed down to future generations a vast, unique repository, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated during today's ceremony of unveiling Anzor Erkomaishvili's memorial plaque at the Ozurgeti Branch of the State Folklore Center.

The Head of Government, in discussing Anzor Erkomaishvili's contribution to the development of Georgian culture, emphasized the memorial plaque's unveiling once again demonstrates gratefulness to Anzor Erkomaishvili's enormous merit in serving Georgian culture and Georgia in general.

"It is with deep respect that I welcome Mister Anzor Erkomaishvili's wife, Lali. We have gathered here today to once again honor the memory Anzor Erkomaishvili, our great Georgian, great Gurian, and, I would say, a cultural figure of global importance. In fact, he dedicated his whole life to our country, Georgian music, and created, preserved, and handed down to future generations a vast, unique repository. As you know, on the Georgian Government's decision, the State Folklore Center has been named after Mister Anzor Erkomaishvili, to immortalize his name. And it is so, and will always be. It is with great respect that I point out that the cause initiated by Anzor Erkomaishvili-who has preserved for us this vast treasury-is honorably continued by Mister Giorgi Donadze. I welcome him from the bottom of my heart as Mister Anzor Erkomaishvili's exceptional student and successor. I wish his success, and I thank him for continuing Mister Anzor Erkomaishvili's cause," Irakli Garibashvili said.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by Anzor Erkomaishvili'swife, Lali Seturidze, Minister of Culture, Sport and Youth Affairs Thea Tsulukiani, Minister of Education and Science Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili, members of the executive and legislative branches of government, and Director of the State Folklore Center of Georgia Giorgi Donadze.
