Irakli Sesiashvili has been appointed the Prime Minister's Defense and Security Adviser.

Today, Irakli Garibashvili held a working meeting with his newly appointed Adviser, at the Administration of the Government. Defense and security are the Georgian Government's priority areas, the Head of Government emphasized and wished success to Irakli Sesiashvili.

Irakli Sesiashvili is a Member of Georgia's 10th Parliament, while serving as Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee of the 8th and 9th Parliaments in 2012-2020. He has years-long experience working in the private and nongovernmental sectors, and in the academic field. Irakli Garibashvili has majored in various disciplines at the Tbilisi State University, Heidelberg University, the University of Bamberg, also holding a master's degree in security studies from the Institute of Peace and Security Studies at the University of Hamburg.
