Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met Nikol Pashinyan, incumbent Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia during his Official Visit today.

Interface meeting between the leaders was focused on the existing relations between the two countries. Discussions were related to such agenda items, as connectivity, energy and road infrastructure.

Cooperation between Georgia and Armenia in areas of economy, transport, logistics and culture was also noted at the meeting.

Nikol Pashinyan highlighted that versatile political relations between the two countries are based on historic traditions.

"Dear Prime Minister, we welcome you to the Armenian land. Our high-level meetings were deferred recently for a while, due to COVID. I am thrilled that we will be resuming relations at high-level. Agenda of our bilateral relations is very wide, ranging from connectivity and energy to road infrastructure. Of course, the fight against COVID-19 is among the most pressing issues of our joint agenda.

Political relations of our nations are versatile and based on the historic traditions of our people. I believe that regional issues are in our agenda and we should discuss it to try and agree on our positions. Of course, our relations need to deepen with humanitarian, educational and cultural topics.

Our nations should support each other for the prosperity and development of our countries. I welcome you once again and remain confident that negotiations will be fruitful today" stated Nikol Pashinyan.

Irakli Garibashvili noted that relations existing between the two countries are based on not only neighborly, but very close friendly relationship.

"Mr. Prime Minister, thank you ever so much for hosting us. It is a great honor for me to meet you. You rightly mentioned COVID pandemic, which has affected every nation, every people and relationship, of course.

Irrespective of this, I feel greatly honored to visit Yerevan, of course. You are aware of our relations. Our people are tied with very close friendly and not only neighborly relations. Our interaction and friendship dates centuries. Hence, we are keen to see peace, stability, development in Armenia and the region at large.

You also mentioned our agenda, which may be very versatile and comprehensive. We should discuss ways to further develop our trade and economic ties, our cultural relations, cooperation in areas like transport and logistics.

These topics will make us closer to each other, of course in a regional prism. For me, it is a great honor to be your guest" noted Irakli Garibashvili.

Interface meeting was followed with negotiations in an extended format, which engaged members of government from both sides.
