Today, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Diego Colas, Ambassador of the French Republic to Georgia.

The meeting focused on the dynamic and active cooperation between Georgia and France in both bilateral and multilateral formats.

Diego Colas underlined France's support for Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration and the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The conversation also revolved around COVID-19-related challenges. Irakli Garibashvili pointed out that one of the key objectives of the Georgian Government in the post-crisis period will be to revive economic relations and further develop new trade and investment opportunities.

The meeting at the Government Administration also emphasized the importance of assistance provided to Georgia by the French Development Agency (AFD).

"We had a very interesting and dense meeting with the Prime Minister. We discussed the democratic development of Georgia and the importance of continuing reforms toward greater democracy and consolidation of institutions.

We also discussed bilateral issues and the development of Georgia. We are very keen to be alongside Georgia to help the country on its European path, develop its economy and human relations between Georgia and France and Europe more widely," Diego Colas said after the meeting with the Prime Minister.
