Today, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, accompanied by Imereti Governor Zviad Shalamberidze, visited the construction site of Prometheus's Gardens Hotel.

Construction work is in full swing, expected to be completed by the spring of 2021. The project's overall investment volume is 3,300,000 GEL.

The hotel is surrounded by a complex intended to house a museum. The complex by the entrance of Prometheus Cave presently employs 110 people, with 20 more jobs expected after expansion.

According to the Head of Government, employment-especially in light of the pandemic-related economic crisis-is one of the top priorities, and the Government is committed to supporting businesses through various state programs, so that more jobs may be created in the country. Importantly, the construction of tourist accommodation establishments continues even during the pandemic, Giorgi Gakharia emphasized, with the construction of this particular hotel to be finalized this spring. According to the Prime Minister, the country is actively preparing for this summer's tourist season.

"Unfortunately, the winter season has been cancelled around the globe, practically. However, by enforcing timely restrictions, and then lifting them incrementally and prudently, we are setting the stage for being more open for the coming tourist season this summer," the Prime Minister said.
