The Professional Day of a Customs Officer is celebrated worldwide today. You may well be aware that Customs Office of Georgia was actively engaged in the fight against the pandemic from day one and it started about a year ago. Besides protecting the economic borders of the country in a dignified manner, they were assisting our citizens, visitors and economic actors of our country in continued operation under the pandemic in a format of business as usual. I therefore want to thank them all. It was stated by Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia at a meeting of the Inter-Agency Coordination Council today.
The Head of Government of Georgia noted that work of the customs officer is vital for a quick economic development of the country.
"All of us need to understand that our customs officers work round the clock and it is most precious for the economic advancement of the country, protection of sovereign borders and vital for a quick economic development of Georgia. We acknowledge and appreciate it. We are grateful to them!" stated the Prime Minister of Georgia.
