Today, Georgian Prime Minister held a meeting with Tomas Mulman, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Georgia.

At the introductory meeting, the Head of Government wished the newly appointed Ambassador success in his endeavors and expressed hope that his tenure will see the further deepening of the bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Georgia and Austria.

The Prime Minister emphasized the assistance of friend and partner states in the fight against the pandemic and expressed gratitude to Austria.

Special attention was paid to further deepening the trade and economic relations between the two countries, also to successful cooperation with the Austrian Development Agency (ADA).

The meeting pointed out the negative impact of the pandemic on various areas, especially on the tourism sector. At the post-crisis stage of economic recovery, the Georgian Government will prioritize tourism, and the country will be happy to continue hosting Austrian visitors, the Prime Minister emphasized.

The Austrian Ambassador reassured the Prime Minister of Austria's strong support for Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

According to Giorgi Gakharia, the Government of Georgia appreciates the engagement of Austrian observers in the EU Monitoring Mission and the friend country's support for Georgia's European integration.
