Work on the Action Plan for Vaccination is practically completed. Final details have been cleared at a due working meeting held and led by Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia at the Government Administration today.
National coverage of vaccination under the plan has been discussed in detail, along with the information on target groups that will be immunised in the first instance. Plan also covers logistical and operational issues related to the vaccination.
Document will be scrutinized by the Inter-Agency Coordination Council next week.
At the same time, steps made in Georgia towards supply of vials have been reviewed. It was once again noted that intensive work is in progress on gaining access to the vaccine as early as possible. Main precondition for the milestone is a pre-qualification by the World Health Organization (WHO) and international recognition of the vaccine.
