"The program for access to land resources is the Government's important priority. Recently, we announced a 3-year program for systemic land registration designed to regulate the issue of land registration in the country once and for all. In addition, we have a group of farmers renting state-owned lands, which they have used for years to work and grow various crops." Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated during today's Cabinet meeting.
According to him, those, who for years, have been diligent in fulfilling their rent-related obligations to the state, will be able to purchase land lots from the state at commercial prices through direct sales.
"There have been many requests during visits and meetings in the regions, and the Government has decided that those who, for years, have been diligent in fulfilling their rent-related obligations to the state will be able to purchase land lots from the state at commercial prices through direct sales. Because they have used these land lots to work and grow crops for years. It will be accomplished through direct sales at market prices, of course, as a sign of appreciation for the years-long agricultural efforts of these farmers. At the same time, it will enable our citizens to expand their businesses, receive more resources from the banking sector, and create more jobs." Giorgi Gakharia said.
