From 1 July, the salaries of the people who are in the service of Georgia have been increased. This refers to police officers, all emergency medical personnel, village doctors and nurses, and social agents. These are the people who care for us and our citizens on a daily basis. Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia made this statement during the session of the government that took place today.
According to the prime minister, from 1 July, the pension of pensioners over the age of 70 will amount to 250 GEL, while the pension of persons living in mountainous regions will amount to 300 GEL.
"In addition, it is extremely important that given the increase of the pensions on the one hand, and the adoption of the legislative amendments - as a result of which the annual growth of pensions has been connected to the country's economic performance indicators - on the other, the issue of the pensions of our meritorious elderly citizens will never again become the subject of political speculations. Additionally, as you know, from 1 July, the pension of pensioners over the age of 70 will amount to 250 GEL, while the pension of persons living in mountainous regions will amount to 300 GEL," Giorgi Gakharia stated.
