In July, New Port, a hotel built with support from the Enterprise Georgia state program, will open in Kutaisi. Built in 1914 and later demolished, this monument of cultural heritage presently housing the hotel has been fully renovated.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maya Tskitishvili, Head of the National Tourism Administration Mariam Kvrivishvii, and Imereti Governor Zviad Shalamberidze visited the new hotel shortly before opening.
The Head of Government emphasized the historical role and importance of the ancient city of Kutaisi in the country's cultural and educational life, and the significance of its maximal development, albeit preserving its traditional appearance and spirit that make Kutaisi a European and yet totally unique city.
