Today, we had an interesting, at times heated discussion. Many thanks were expressed from this rostrum and in this hall, which I will not revisit because no one has been left out. In the end, however, I would like to express my greatest sincere gratitude to the citizenry of Georgia for their support, wisdom, and fairness. This is our joint step, these are our joint achievements, and we cannot yet call this achievement a victory as we have only overcome the first wave so far, stated Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia in his closing remarks in Parliament.

According to the head of the government, the country's economy must be restored and a normal income must be returned to the family of every citizen of the country through joint efforts.

"We understand very well that the global pandemic has touched every Georgian family by affecting the economy. Many people found themselves in a difficult situation. All of us understand and all of us can see that the assistance provided by us, the state, to citizens must be greater, quicker, and more effective. We will do all of this. We will do everything to ensure that every person who needs this support and assistance receives it from the authorities and the government. We must all understand that the most difficult six months are ahead of us, during which we are counting on the wisdom, fairness, and support of our citizens. We have hope that we will overcome all of these obstacles and problems, and emerge victorious. We have not defeated the virus yet; it is still here. We must all restore the country's economy together and ensure that a normal income returns to the families of each of our citizens," the prime minister stated.

According to the head of the government, the next six months will be the most difficult in terms of healthcare and epidemiology, as well as in terms of overcoming economic problems and ensuring an economic revival; at the same time, exemplary elections must be held in the country.

"We must hold elections in the country in a manner that will not allow anyone the opportunity to repeat what is taking place today, when the issue of human health and life is used against the country, for political speculation and political point-scoring. People are not shying away from putting our friendly, deep relations with our strategic partner at risk through provocations. We need to understand that we must be extremely careful. Once again, I would like to emphasize that that the next six months will be extremely difficult and full of challenges. We will emerge victorious here as well because we are counting on the wisdom, fairness, and support of our citizens in this case as well. It is not a chance occurrence when we say that we can turn this crisis into an opportunity for this country, together with our citizens," Giorgi Gakharia stated.

The prime minister believes that a country becomes a state by overcoming such crises effectively.

"This is the crisis that allows us to show the world how effectively a small country can manage challenges. When we talk about turning a crisis into an opportunity, we are not talking only about healthcare, the economy, our social lives, or politics. This crisis is an opportunity for the opposition as well, unfortunately, though only time will tell how it will be used - no one knows this yet. I would like to tell you one thing - a country becomes a state, an effective, successful state through such crises, by overcoming them in an effective manner. We have this opportunity and I am certain that we - all of us, together with our citizens - will make use of this opportunity and give each of our citizens the opportunity to participate in the establishment of our country as an effective and successful state," the prime minister noted.
