Led by the Prime Minister, the Interagency Coordination Council on Coronavirus held its meeting today. To share information on and take coordinated steps in relation to the current state of affairs, the Interagency Council is convened by the Head of Government on a regular basis.

Today's meeting emphasized that the number of coronavirus cases has not increased, and the health conditions of the three persons with previously confirmed cases is satisfactory. The council has been informed that over 100 persons remain under quarantine.

To prevent the spread of coronavirus, the Interagency Coordination Council urges Georgia's citizens to abstain from travel, especially to the countries categorized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as high-risk territories.

During the Interagency Coordination Council's meeting, the Interior Ministry and the Customs Department at the Finance Ministry were instructed to install modern-standard field tents at every checkpoint and airport throughout Georgia to accommodate passengers arriving from WHO-designated high-risk territories before their referral to special facilities.

To prevent the spread of new coronavirus, the Interagency Coordination Council has issued recommendations to cancel large gatherings in public circulation areas. This information has already been sent to local self-governing authorities.

In addition, active disinfection is underway in schools and kindergartens throughout Georgia. In line with the Health Ministry's recommendations, special solutions are used to treat educational institutions and public transport.

The Interagency Coordination Council under the leadership of the Prime Minister continues a series of active meetings. There is no reason in the country to panic, and the authorities have the situation under control.
