Prime Minister of Georgia Expressed Gratitude to President of Lietuva for Supporting Georgia Print Version

"Lietuva is a close friend and ally of Georgia. We particularly value your solid support towards our European and Euro-Atlantic integration". It was stated by Gitanas Nausėda, President of the Republic of Lietuva at a meeting with Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia.

Parties discussed the Eastern Partnership Summit, which will be held in Brussels this June. New Vision of Eastern Partnership will be developed at the event on the agenda ahead.

Focus at the meeting was made on the security, human rights and grave violations of humanitarian conditions at the occupied territories of Georgia. President of the Republic of Lietuva reaffirmed the Head of Government of Georgia in the solid support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.

Parties positively regarded the high-level political dialogue existing between the two countries, along with the trend of high-level visits, sectoral cooperation, people-to-people relations and cultural links.

It was noted that Lietuva is a very significant trade and economic partner of Georgia. Prime Minister noted that Government of Georgia welcomes the doubled volume of inbound visitors from Lietuva to Georgia, which has been significantly resulted from the direct air flights between the two countries.

Meeting between the Prime Minister of Georgia and President of the Republic of Lietuva held within the scope of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos was attended by Ivane Matchavariani, Minister of Finance of Georgia and Irakli Chikovani, Adviser to the Prime Minister of Georgia on Foreign Affairs.
