On the decision of Georgia's Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze, chronical disease medications for the residents of the villages along the boundary line will be issued for 1 GEL, and relevant changes to the Program for treatment Medications will come into force in the next few days.

The program's concessions will offer its benefits to every citizen in the villages along the boundary line, regardless of their age, social, and medical status.
The initiative applies to 35 different medications for treating cardiovascular, respiratory, type II diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease, epilepsy, and Parkinson's disease.

The same concessions apply to every Georgian socially vulnerable citizen, also pension-age citizens, people with limited abilities, and war veterans. Under the medication program, more than 90.000 people have enjoyed its benefits by buying medications for 1 GEL.
Ensuring aces to healthcare services for citizens is one of the key priorities of the Georgian Government. The amounts necessary for purchasing medications have been a heavy load on the citizens, to alleviate which the Government has launched the State Program for Supplying Medications. The Government will continue working on maximally assisting those who need support from the state most.
