"I am convinced that goals to be reached through joint efforts will substantially advance economic ties between Belarus and Georgia to a completely new level" stated Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia in his statement for media after a meeting with Syarhey Rumas, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

According to the Head of Government of Georgia, it is essential that cooperation on high technologies is advancing in parallel with collaboration in agriculture and trade between the two countries.

"Belarus is a very good example for Georgia of how new technologies may be introduced and I wish to particularly underline our relationship in the realm of information technologies" added the Prime Minister of Georgia.

According to the Head of Government of Georgia, growing indicator of tourism between the two countries is of special importance.

"I am delighted that number of visitors from Belarus is increasing and I welcome the decision to double the number of direct flights between the two countries. I wish to once again express my gratitude to my host colleague and our friend for this warm welcome and hospitality in Minsk. I am confident that this visit will greatly contribute to the intensification of bilateral relationship. A very important project will be launched tomorrow. It is a Georgian House in Minks, which is aimed at the promotion of Georgian traditions, history and culture" noted the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Head of Government of Georgia thanked Belorussian people for their demonstrated support towards territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.

"I wish to express my special gratitude to our friendly nation for the decisive support that has been demonstrated towards territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country" added the Prime Minister of Georgia.

According to the Head of Government of Georgia, fruitful cooperation exists between the two countries at every international platform, including that of within the Eastern Partnership.

"It is indeed a project of historic significance, whereby we have very fruitful relationship with Belarus. I am confident that these international platforms will enable us to further deepen our bilateral relationship" noted the Prime Minister of Georgia.

As stated by Syarhey Rumas, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus in his statement for media, both countries are reliable partners to each other and relations are characterized with openness, high degree of trust and mutual understanding.

"Our cooperation has recently become significantly active as interaction has been intensified between the governments and public institutions, enterprises and businesses. Significant role is plaid in these bilateral relations by the Inter-Governmental Commission, Sectoral Industrial Groups and Belarus-Georgia Business Council. Exchange visits are made by delegations literally every month and they discuss prospects of cooperation in various directions" stated the Prime Minister of Belarus.

According to the host government official, it is important that intensified trade and economic relations result in tangible outcome.

"Special attention was paid to the crucial issues of cooperation at the negotiations today. I fully share ideas with my Georgian colleague on the great potential of Belarus and Georgia in terms of increased trade volumes. This indicator will soon increase to 200 MLN USD" stated the Prime Minister of Belarus.

Host government official believes that one of such prospects is the increased supply of passenger transportation to Georgia from Belarus.

"We have rather successful experience in supplying the commodity. Railway carriages with a trademark of Stadler were supplied to JSC Railway of Georgia in 2016 and 2017. This German commodity is assembled in Belarus. Now we are discussing the opportunity of supplying the Belorussian passenger busses to Georgia. These will be electric busses and underground carriages. We hope to get support and assistance of the Government of Georgia towards this end" noted the Prime Minister of Belarus.

According to the host government official, parties have agreed on the intensification of cooperation for the development of interaction in such sectors as production and agriculture.

"First steps have already been made. Lift assembling enterprise under the trademark of Mogilevliftmash was launched in March of last year in Tbilisi, while a small-capacity tractor assembling enterprise under the trademark of Belarus was launched this March in Batumi. Packaging of Belorussian medication has commenced in Georgia at the premises of Minsk Crystal. We are bottling Georgian brandy in Belarus under a trademark of Sarajishvili, while Belorussian alcoholic beverages are bottled in Georgia" added the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

According to the host government official, agreement has been concluded on the organization of Georgian tea packaging in Belarus.

"We are delighted that the first Georgian Trade House will open in Minsk tomorrow and a wide spectrum of food products will be made available there. I hope that it is only the start and Georgian trademark shops will open in our country in future as well. Our countries are actively cooperating in the agriculture sector for cattle breading. Georgian farms received 30 units of grain collection machinery with a trademark of GomSelMash last year" concluded the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.
