Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia labels statements on allegedly no visits held by government officials to Gugutiantkari Village since the so called resumed border shifting process as false and disinformation.

As Head of Government of Georgia stated in his conversation with journalists held in Abasha today, officials from public institutions were on the spot as soon as the problem emerged and they were attending to the issue round the clock.

“Upon my request, Ketevan Tsikhelashvili as well as officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia were there. Diplomatic corps visited the spot today and unfortunately everyone saw the aggression with which Russia continues to occupy our territories. Unfortunately, a so called border shifting process continues. Today it is most important that local residents get support and assistance. I wish to assure citizens of Georgia that we do our best to support these people. What is most important, occupation and so called border shifting is a very painful process and we need full consolidation of the international community in opposing it. That is why we have been using all the international formats from the very first day to consolidate the opinion of the international community to somehow stop this painful process. How and on what grounds do you assert that we did not flag this critical matter in any format?! Several days ago a most important meeting was held. Occupation of Georgian territories by Russia was discussed. UN grandstand is the highest rostrum of all, where this problem may be raised. Alas, you continue with a campaign of disinformation. Our institutions were there from the very first day in support of our citizens” concluded the Prime Minister of Georgia in response to a question posed by Rustavi2 news correspondent.
