One more project will be implemented for the provision of housing to the servicemen and their families in Georgia. Namely, residential blocks will be built for 635 officers in Tbilisi with funding allocated from the State Budget of Georgia.
A partnership has been established towards this end and 10 hectares of land will be transferred in its title ownership for a symbolic price via a principle of direct sale at Makhata Mount by the Government of Georgia with an ultimate goal of constructing residential blocks with multiple units. Government of Georgia also provides a co-financing of the construction to benefit the individual members of the partnership.
Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia spoke with the Minister of Defense of Georgia and servicemen managing the partnership about the project implementation and housing for the military personnel.
As noted by the Head of Government of Georgia, social security of servicemen is the most significant priority of the Government and housing is a special project towards that end. Prime Minister of Georgia noted that a number of other projects will be implemented for the housing of servicemen and their families. Head of Government of Georgia instructed the Ministry of Defense of Georgia to submit a plan with a timeline on the anticipated implementation of the project and its consequent phases. Projects aimed at the provision of houses to the military personnel are planned for other cities of the country as well.
