We welcome every activity from the consortium toward the successful completion of the Anaklia Port Project, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze told the press in his comment on this topic.
The Head of Government emphasized the port's strategic importance, and stated that the Government has done everything to ensure the project's successful implementation.
"The state has paid tens of millions of GEL for lands to hand to the consortium. The Government assumed the responsibility of developing additional infrastructure, and that requires several hundred million in investments, be it a railroad, a highway, or any other. We succeeded in securing for the Anaklia Project a place on every interested IFI's priority list, and I have a simple question to those who fancy themselves financial experts, no less. Given the foregoing, can anyone have any questions about the state ding everything to make sure that the Anaklia Port is built? Yes, we have done everything. Moreover, we will do everything necessary in order for Georgia to have a deep-sea port, and it will surely happen," Mamuka Bakhtadze stated.
