Georgian sport is a clear example of greatest achievements when Georgian citizens, all Georgians get united by spirit and by standing together" stated Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia at the ceremony of departure for the Summer Youth Olympics Festival.

In the opinion of the Head of Government of Georgia, youth and sports are a distinct priority of the Government. Achievements of Georgian athletes confirm that investments and new programs made in recent years have been fruitful.

"The entire year of 2018 was most successful in the history of Georgian sports, when out athletes gave us over 800 reasons to be proud of them for this very number of medals won. I am confident that 2019 will be even more successful. It also proves that investments and new programs made by us in recent years for a greater engagement of the youth in sports, have already been fruitful. Our celebrated athletes had unique achievements in Minsk judging by the number of medals won on the continent of Europe. Our national team was ranked 5th. We also witnessed a historic decision made on the host country of the European Championship of Basketball in 2021. Georgia has been honored. I am confident that each of you will do his and her best in Baku this time. You are the future of the great Georgian sports! Georgia is above and beyond of pride for you!" stated the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Summer Youth Olympic Festival of Europe will be held in Baku during 21-27 July, 2019. Over 50 countries of Europe will participate with athletes aged under 19. Program includes 10 sport types. Georgian delegation will participate in 6 categories with 36 athletes.
