With an aim of preventing violations of health and safety norms, monitoring and immediate response, joint groups composed of various public institutions of regulation will carry out an integrated monitoring of construction sites. It was announced by Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia today.

With an explanation given by the Head of Government of Georgia, these groups will carry out an integrated monitoring at construction sites. According to the Prime Minister of Georgia, absolutely irresponsible decisions made in the recent years have led to a legislative gap in the area concerned, thereby noting that labor safety is one of the most painful challenges in the country.

"This decision will lead to a reduced probability of employment in conditions triggering at life and health hazard in the construction sector, thereby minimizing the risk of fatalities. Public awareness will be increased and additional information will be pro-actively shared with employees and employers in the construction sector" noted the Prime Minister of Georgia.

According to the Head of Government of Georgia, referred groups will initially cover Tbilisi, while their operation will later be extended to the regions of the country.
