On Prime Minister’s Decision, National Hero Merab Kostava Stipend to Be Established Print Version

As Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze stated during the briefing before today's Government meeting, on the Prime Minister's decision, National Hero Merab Kostava Stipend will be established.

According to the Head of Government, Merab Kostava, a national hero whose name is closely tied to the fight for freedom, would turn 80 on May 26.

"May 26 marks the 80th anniversary of Merab Kostava, our national hero whose name is tied to the fight for freedom. We have made a decision to establish Merab Kostava Stipend," Mamuka Bakhtadze said.

The Prime Minister also spoke about the upcoming celebration of Independence Day and emphasized that events will be held throughout Georgia, and many innovations and surprises are planned.

"In a few days, we are celebrating the most important day in our country, Independence Day, May 26. The millennia-old history of the Georgian nation is about a fight for freedom and independence. It is a special day for our citizens. Consequently, I have made a decision to make the May 26 celebrations special in Georgia's regions, and these events will be held throughout Georgia. Surprises are awaiting all of us during the period of the May 26 celebrations," Mamuka Bakhtadze underlined.
