High-tech tests will be available in Georgia-these services are provided by the multifunctional Mega Lab. The laboratory's opening ceremony today was led by Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze.

According to the Head of Government, it is important that Georgian citizens will not have to travel abroad for certain types of tests.

In addition, the Prime Minister welcomed the fact that the Mega Lab offers internships to future specialists. Mamuka Bakhtadze thanked everyone for contributing to the implementation of this project.

"This project is important to us in many ways. Firstly, it is enhanced access to these types of analyses and tests for our citizens, which brings about enormous economic effect. Tens of millions of dollars flowed out of the country because we did not have necessary infrastructure in Georgia. Secondly, this project is part of our vision that Georgia must become the region's economic hub. Georgia must enhance its export opportunities, especially in the area of tourism, and infrastructure of this kind will help us tremendously to this end. Importantly, this facility, in due time, will be accredited by leading countries, which automatically means the exceptional level of validity of tests conducted in this lab," Mamuka Bakhtadze said.

The Meg Lab, the largest multifunctional laboratory in the Caucasus, will conduct up to six million tests a year. The laboratory boasts the latest technology ensuring maximally precise diagnostics.
