Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia visited the Permanent Mission of Georgia to the Council of Europe to meet diaspora representatives and students of the Sunday School.
Head of Government of Georgia shared information with them on the current reforms implemented in the country, including the wide-scale initiative planned in the education sector, according to which funding will reach 6% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and constitute to a quarter of the State Budget.
Prime Minister of Georgia also briefed the diaspora about the projects intended for the economic growth and development of the country. He pledged that authorities will do their best to create all the conditions for their return to homeland.
Students of the Sunday School presented a short performance to the Prime Minister of Georgia. Almost 100 students are admitted to the school with support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia to learn the native language and literature. Teachers, including the representatives of the Georgian diaspora, teach with tailor-made textbooks and integrated program of teaching the Georgian language designed and developed by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia. The textbooks are granted to such schools by the state for gratis.
Sunday School operates within the premises of the Permanent Mission of Georgia at the Council of Europe, which the State has recently acquired.
