Social workers have a very busy schedule, and I am especially grateful to all of them for their years-long service, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze stated during the briefing before today's Government meeting.

As the Head of Government pointed out, Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs Davit Sergeenko has presented a concrete action plan to support and encourage social workers.

"I would like to comment on the issue of social workers. Firstly, allow me to express my deepest respect for each of them. It is indeed a very important profession, a special profession that requires special care, and is related at eth same time to serious responsibility. I understand that very well. At the same time, social policy is one of our team's key priorities. We are trying to expand social services every year, and the schedule of social workers is becoming tighter. Minister Davit Sergeenko has proposed a concrete action plan seeking to support and encourage those employed in this sector," Mamuka Bakhtadze said.

According to eth Prime Minister, part of said action plan has already been implemented.

"We also adopted a new law that will further cement Georgia's social policy, and communication is underway between the Ministry and those employed in this sector. At the same time, we have ensured against disruption in social service provision, because many Georgian citizens are using them. It is a very sensitive issue, which is why I urge everyone to exercise maximal responsibility in dealing with it," Mamuka Bakhtadze stated.
