Georgian Prime Minister, in the company of the President of Georgia, attended the official opening ceremony of the newly rehabilitated building of Ilia Chavchavadze State Theater of Drama in Batumi, and the premier of KLDIASHVILI.GE, a performance directed by Andro Enukidze after Davit Kldiashvili's play.
The theater's festive opening ceremony was attended by the Chair of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, members of the legislative body, and representatives of the diplomatic corps and the theatric community.
The unprecedented rehabilitation of Batumi Ilia Chavchavadze State Theater of Drama was financed by Cartu Foundation by allocating 14.5 million GEL to restore the unique walls, ceiling paintings, unmatched chandelier, capitals, and other important details of this historical building from the 1950s, and to keep them in their original form. In addition, modern lighting and audio systems, along with new stagecraft mechanisms, have been installed.
