The upcoming European Weightlifting Championships will reaffirm that Georgia is not only home to champions but also a country capable of organizing international tournaments of this scope at the highest level, the Prime Minister of Georgia stated today in Batumi where he familiarized himself with preparations for the European Weightlifting Championships.

The Head of Government met and wished success to Georgia's national weightlifting team who are preparing for the upcoming tournament.
All of Georgia is proud of their achievements, Mamuka Bakhtadze pointed out, and they are role models for the country's youth.

President of the Weightlifting Federation Kakhi Kakhiashvili informed the Prime Minister about preparation activities. Bakhtadze emphasized the importance of holding the European Weightlifting Championships at a high level.
"In the recent years, we have had unique weightlifting achievements. Every third on our current national team is a world champion, and every other is a champion of Europe. I am grateful to the Weightlifting Federation, coaches, and our decorated athletes who have been spoiling us with their great success lately. I am convinced that the European Championships in Batumi will be a success to enable us further to promote our country, and to reaffirm that Georgia is not only home to champions but also a country capable of organizing international tournaments of this scope at the highest level," the Prime Minister emphasized.
The European Weightlifting Championships will be held at the new Batumi Sports Palace, starting on April 6, to bring together athletes from more than 40 countries.
