"New and exceptional format developed for cooperation by and between EU and Georgia will give an additional incentive to relationships and will promote Georgia as a role model of success in integration with Europe in its entire neighborhood" was noted at the meeting of Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia and Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission in Brussels today.

Attention was focused on the new initiatives and projects, which will be implemented to generate specific benefits for Georgia and will further approximate the country with EU in various directions.

Parties noted that the new format will significantly contribute to the intensified cooperation with EU, which implies the identification of sectoral integration opportunities.

In the opinion of President Juncker, one more special phase of partnership between Georgia and EU is launched with the enforcement of the new format.

Prime Minister of Georgia and President of the European Commission also spoke about the Roadmap2Europe, which envisages the preparation of the country for the following stage of EU integration.

Attention was also paid in the discussions to the reforms already implemented by the Government of Georgia and those intended in various directions.

Head of Government of Georgia spoke about the grave humanitarian conditions witnessed at the occupied territories. Prime Minister of Georgia thanked the EU for its solid support towards the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country.
