"My personal and special attention has been invested in the development of Emergency Response Service. We have increased the budget earmarking for this agency and by 2020 Tbilisi will be serviced with new fire-fighting and emergency rescue vehicles" stated Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia at a meeting with the staff of the Emergency Response Service held at the Government Administration today.

In line with the instructions issued by the Head of Government of Georgia, material-technical base of the Emergency Response Service shall be fully upgraded throughout the country by the beginning of 2022, including its vehicles and hardware.

Prime Minister of Georgia expressed his sheer gratitude to the staff of the Emergency Response Service for their bravery and courage demonstrated during the tragedy occurred in Ponichala District of Tbilisi recently. Head of Government of Georgia once again expressed his condolences to the family of the mother and infant, and the whole country for the lives lost as a result of the explosion of natural gas in a residential block.

"You saved 3 citizens of the country by putting your life at risk. Unfortunately, we lost the lives of a mother and her infant. I wish to once again express my condolences to the family of victims and to the entire country for this enormous tragedy. My personal and special attention is invested in the development of your Service. Being a Prime Minister and an ordinary citizen of this country, I strongly believe that each and every individual should constantly have an expectation to be rescued and saved by heroes that appear during any hardship and tragedy, ready to help them in the most timely manner. I wish to once again express my sincere gratitude to you for the demonstrated courage and dedication to our homeland. Each of you are true heroes to us" stated the Prime Minister of Georgia when addressing the staff of the Emergency Response Service.
