Today, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze hosted successful weightlifters at the Administration of the Government.
The Head of Government congratulated the athletes on their successes and pointed out the successful performance by Georgian athletes further promotes sports as a precondition for introducing a healthy way of life.
The meeting discussed the importance of fostering a healthy lifestyle in school, the issue of putting in place necessary infrastructure, the state's financial support for weightlifting, and the necessity of developing sports medicine. The Prime Minister looked into the process of preparation for the Tokyo World Championships.
The athletes thanked the Prime Minister for being attentive to sports.
The meeting at the Administration of the Government was attended by Three-Time World and European Champion and record-breaker Lasha Talakhadze, Captain of the Georgian National Weightlifting Team Irakli Turmanidze, weightlifter Revaz Davitadze, Georgia's Meritorious Coach Avtandil Gakhokidze, Head Coach of the National Team Giorgi Asanidze, and President of the National Weightlifting Federation of Georgia Kakhi Kakhiashvili.
