Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia met with Geert-Hinrich Ahrens, Election Observation Mission Chief of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) today.

Discussions were related to the pre-election environment witnessed in the country, presidential elections and upcoming second round of voting.

Prime Minister stated that Government of Georgia (GOG) welcomes greater engagement of more observers in the process of elections.

It was also noted that in the opinion of international observer missions and organizations, presidential elections of Georgia were held in full compliance with democratic standards on October 28, 2018. Similarly, second round will be held in free and transparent environment.

Meeting was also focused on the role of non-government organizations (NGOs) in the objective assessment of pre-election environment and competition between the candidates.
