As Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze stated during the briefing before today's Government meeting, starting in 2019, salaries will increase for army servicepersons, border guards, personnel of coastal defense ships, staff of the Interior Ministry's different units, and the Special State Projection Service's employees.

According to the Head of Government, important steps have been taken since 2016 to improve the financial conditions of the Armed Force's personnel on active duty and to ensure their social support.

"In 2019-2020, the salaries of 7,562 servicepersons, based on their ranks, will increase by 100-510 GEL. In summer 2018, the financial situation of almost 14,000 employees of the Interior Ministry was improved. This process will continue, and starting in 2019, the salaries of the border guards of the Interior Ministry's Border Police, and of the personnel of coastal defense ships, about 2,900 persons in all, will increase by 250 GEL. Increasing salaries for different units at the Interior Ministry in January 1 is also planned. Similarly, salaries will increase for the Special State Projection Service's employees," the Prime Minister emphasized.
