Today, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze held a meeting with the European Parliament's Election Observation Delegation.

The conversation during the meeting revolved around the October 28 presidential election and the country's pre-election environment. As the Prime Minister pointed out, the Government once again ensures a fair, free, and transparent election in line with the highest election standards.

The representatives of the European Parliament's Delegation named hate speech and insulting rhetoric against individual candidates as the pre-election season's challenge, and expressed hope in the upcoming election's peaceful environment.

The conversation also involved the state of affairs and dire human rights situation in Georgia's occupied territories. The Prime Minister informed the European Parliament's Delegation about various successful reforms across a number of areas. The meeting also discussed the process of developing the Concept of the National Security Council which, in line with the reform, will serve as a coordination structure subordinated to the Prime Minister.
