The country now has the portrait of Teimuraz II, a famed Georgian king, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze stated.
According to the Head of Government, this gift to the Georgian people has been given by the Cartu Foundation.
"Our country is now in possession of the portrait of the celebrated Georgian King Teimuraz II, which was painted in his lifetime, and that makes it so special. This portrait of King Teimuraz was painted by a famous Russian artist during the former's stay in Russia, and this gift to the Georgian people has been given by the Cartu Foundation, marking the third precious acquisition this year to enrich Georgian culture and art," Mamuka Bakhtadze said.
