Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Rudolf Mikhalka, Special Representative of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Chairman-in-Office for the South Caucasus today.

Head of the Government of Georgia wished all the success to the visiting official upon his appointment to the position in September 2018 and underlined the most significant role of OSCE both in Geneva International Discussions (GID) and within the scope of Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) meetings.

It was noted at the meeting today that human rights, humanitarian and security conditions in the occupied regions of Georgia remain disturbing, while the unwavering efforts of Georgia have been praised towards peaceful resolution of the conflict.

Discussions were related to the peaceful initiative branded as a Step towards a Better Future, which aims to facilitate, extend and simplify trade along the division lines; thereby creating additional opportunities for quality education and provision of access to various benefits and prospects for the people living in occupied regions of the country.

Attention was paid to the OSCE Ministerial Council Meeting, which is scheduled to be held in Milan in December 2018. It was noted that Georgia highly appreciates and values the solid and consolidated support of international community towards the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of the nation.

Meeting held at the Government Administration was attended by H.E. Antonio Enrico Bartoli, Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of Italy within the scope of OSCE Chairmanship.
