Mamuka Bakhtadze: We are successfully implementing the reforms under the EU Association Agreement and Association Agenda Print Version

As Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze stated during the meeting of Georgia's EU Integration Commission, today we can state with assuredness that we are successfully implementing the reforms under the EU Association Agreement and the Association Agenda.


The Head of Government spoke about the country's important reforms designed to ensure both legislative and institutional alignment with the EU, which is one of the key preconditions of full integration.

The Prime Minister emphasized the first high-level European Commission meeting to be held in Brussels on November 21, which will advance Georgia-EU integration to a qualitatively new level and promote Georgia's sectoral integration into the EU.

The commission's meeting also discussed the EU Integration Roadmap, the development of which is coordinated by the Foreign Ministry. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the engagement of every institution, so that the country may adopt an effective and realistic strategic document.

During the meeting of Georgia's EU Integration Commission chaired by the Prime Minister at the Administration of the Government, Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani spoke about the October 15 Eastern Partnership Ministerial and the Foreign Minister's visit to Brussels. The meeting also discussed EU visa-free travel and the issue of updating the 2018 National Action Plan for the Implementation of the Association Agreement and the Association Agenda, along with the 6-month report on the implementation of its Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade component.

The Foreign Minister introduced the commission to the 2018 Action Plan of the Communications Strategy for EU and NATO Membership, its 6-month implementation report, and the 2018 Action Plan for the 2017-2020 Georgia-EU Single Support Framework.
