As Romanian Prime Minister Klaus Iohannis stated during today's meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze, Romania supports Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration and intends to continue its efforts in this direction.

The Head of Georgian Government underscored the importance of support from Romania, given its upcoming Presidency of the EU Council, and thanked his Romanian counterpart for the largest contribution to the EU Monitoring Mission.
The discussion involved the results of the NATO Summit in Brussels and future prospects.

The parties commended the partnership between the two countries and the growing dynamic in trade turnover, also emphasizing the greater untapped potential in this direction.

The meeting underlined the importance of stronger transport cooperation, notably ferry boating, because Georgia is the gateway for landlocked countries, and the need to make full use of this opportunity was pointed out.
