Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Boyko Borissov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria within the scope of the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 73) today.

Parties discussed the prospects of increased potential in various sectors, including transport, bilateral cooperation, economic links and cargo shipment through the Black Sea.

Prime Ministers of the two countries agreed to hold a meeting of the inter-governmental Economic Commission of Georgia and Bulgaria in the nearest future to facilitate a greater intensity of cooperation in trade and economy.

Discussions were related to the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia. Prime Minister of Georgia expressed his gratitude to Bulgaria for supporting Georgia in this endeavor and invited his Bulgarian colleague to Tbilisi.

Current challenges of Georgia were also discussed. Prime Minister of Georgia focused on the peace initiative and noted that Government of Georgia appreciates the engagement of Bulgarian nationals in the EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM).
