Today, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze held a meeting with Israel's Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman who is on an official visit to Georgia.

During the meeting, prospects of deeper bilateral cooperation and future relations were discussed.
Special emphasis was placed on further intensifying the defense ties between Georgia and Israel. In particular, the conversation revolved around sharing experience in cybersecurity and the two countries' cooperation in the fight against terrorism.

During the meeting, the centuries-old friendly relations between Israel and Georgia were singled out. It was underlined that, over the past few years, Israel's interest in Georgia in terms of tourism and investments is steadily growing, with emphasis on Israeli investments in the real estate and tourism sectors in Batumi and Tbilisi.

In addition, the conversation during the meeting involved prospects of free trade between Georgia and Israel. According to Mamuka Bakhtadze, the Ministry of Economy has already been instructed to conduct a relevant study into this issue.

The meeting between the Prime Minister of Georgia and Israel's Defense Minister at the Administration of the Government was attended by Defense Minister Levan Izoria and Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani.
