Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia congratulated Shatili Day - traditional celebration of the region to the local population today. Head of the Government of Georgia expressed special gratitude to residents of Shatili for their resilience and dedication to homeland. He spoke with them about the steps planned by the national authorities for the development of highlands in Georgia.

"Love, which is felt here today is the power, which will save Shatili and highlands of Georgia at large. It will save the mountain, which keeps the Georgian gene code, spirit and traditions in the best manner. Shatili has been a gatekeeper in the north of our country for centuries. Each Georgian and the entire world is proud of this unique monument. We started the rehabilitation works at this site in Shatili. Restoration of one more tower was completed this year and we already have a Master Plan of Development" stated the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Head of the Government of Georgia also spoke about yet another unique monument and referred to a five-year plan for the Sustainable Development and Rehabilitation of Mutso, which will guide the rehabilitation works for this site.

"It is very important that rehabilitation works progress so that each detail and feature gets maintained and that original form of our pride - these monuments - are kept well. We are rehabilitating roads and upgrading the tourism infrastructure in a very accelerated manner and I am convinced that it will ultimately get directly reflected in the increased income of the local population. It is very important for us that our citizens get back to these places and to make you return to the land of your fathers and grandfathers. It is also very important for the citizens of our country. In addition, as I promised earlier, we will launch an Affordable Funding Program, which will predominantly focus on the creation of traditional infrastructure by the local population within their households, which will generate additional income and will thereby lead to an additional inflow of tourists to Georgia. The entire world needs to get exposed to the rich traditions and culture born by us - Georgians" concluded the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Head of the Government of Georgia visited a set of unique towers in Shatili and attended a performance of battle art stylized by The Shavparosnebi (Black Shield Holders) and a ritual of bear code blessing, which was performed by the Eldest of Shatili.
