Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs believes that Georgia made an impressive progress towards integration with the European Union (EU) through its reforms. It was stated by Didier J.L. Reynders today at the meeting with Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia.

Parties discussed the key issues of the European and Euro-Atlantic integration Agenda of Georgia. It was noted that first visit of Mamuka Bakhtadze in the capacity of a Prime Minister of Georgia to Brussels is a clear evidence that country remains committed towards its chosen path to achieve an European and Euro-Atlantic integration. It will further increase the momentum in the bilateral and multilateral relations.

Discussions were related to the bilateral relations between Belgium and Georgia and prospects of intensified cooperation in various areas.

Attention has been paid to the current high level political interaction between the two countries; full utilization of the current potential of trade and economic relations and significance of intensified links between businesses; attractive investment climate in Georgia and large infrastructure, transport and energy projects of regional importance, implementation of which will facilitate the increased role of Georgia as a regional hub.

Deputy Prime Minister once again confirmed that Kingdom of Belgium solidly supports the European and Euro-Atlantic path of Georgia, its territorial integrity and sovereignty within the internationally recognized borders.

Meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium was attended by David Zalkaliani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
