Today, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili held a meeting with Malkhaz Machalikashvili, his attorneys, and the Public Defender.
The meeting was attended by Vice Prime Minister and Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia and Head of the Government's Administration Shalva Tadumadze.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister pointed out that he had never refused communication with his fellow citizens.
"I do not want you to feel marginalized by the state and denied communication. You never requested a meeting with me personally. Otherwise, this meeting would have taken place even earlier, without these demonstrations. I once again offer my condolences to you, your family, and all Pankisi residents," Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated.
The Prime Minister familiarized himself with the Machalikashvili family's concerns over the special operation in Pankisi. Giorgi Kvirikashvili also learned about the opinions of the family's attorneys about the process of investigation and particular details of the case, further promising to inquire into these issues and to do his best to ensure against a sense of injustice about this case.
During the meeting, possibilities to provide the Machalikashvilis' attorneys with more details pertaining to the case were also discussed.
