"Your leadership is admired here" said Congressman Peter Roskam, Chairman of Democratic Partnership of Congress to Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia at the meeting held at the US Congress today.
It was also attended by David Price, Co-Chairman of Democratic Partnership of the Congress and firm support of USA towards the Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia was once again reiterated.
Congressmen view the peace initiative of the Government of Georgia - Step Towards Better Future as efforts made in the right direction and noted that it will facilitate the sharing of benefits coming from the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia.
Discussion also involved the killing of Archil Tatunashvili, citizen of Georgia in the occupied territory of the country. It was noted that illegal actions of the occupational regime are unacceptable to the USA and the entire international community.
Meeting was also focused on the prospects of deepening trade and economic relations between USA and Georgia, which is supported by the Congress. Engagement of US was stressed as of great importance in such large-scale communication projects, as the Anaklia deep sea port. Parties noted that projects of similar magnitude incentivize the enhanced stability both within Georgia and throughout the region.
