2018-05-10

"The largest international financial institutions praise our implemented and ongoing institutional reforms. Undoubtedly, it is a recognition of the successful implementation of the four-point agenda with its continually added new components, which is designed to achieve actual, tangible results in the country's rapid development," Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili commented during today's Government meeting on the recent visits of the Finance Minister.
The Prime Minister singled out Mamuka Bakhtadze's important visit to the US where the Minister attended annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. The delegation, including the President of the National Bank, also took part in annual meetings of the Asian Development Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
"Both the ADB and the EBRD plan enhance their portfolios and private sector financing in Georgia. Equally notable is the fact that the World Bank will approve an enhanced credit portfolio for Georgia this coming summer, after completing several formal procedures.
In a few days, May 14-16, an annual meeting of the World Bank's Board of Directors will be held for the first time in Georgia, which is undoubtedly very important," the Prime Minister emphasized.
The Head of Government is convinced that the important results of said visits will reflect in increasing investments.
According to Giorgi Kvirikashvili, trust from international financial institutions is very important to the country and its entrepreneurial and macroeconomic environment, as it has a positive impact on the private sector's engagement and foreign direct investments.
